NATIONAL RETAIL SYSTEMS HELPS MILLBURN POLICE
TRAIN FOR HOMELAND SECURITY
SWAT Team Uses NRS Trucks to Simulate Terrorist Incident
North Bergen, NJ (Jan. 25, 2006) - The Millburn, N.J., police department's SWAT team descended on the transportation facilities of National Retail Systems Inc. last week with bomb detection equipment and firearms. Fortunately, it was just a drill.
The team was training at NRS's North Bergen distribution facilities on bomb detection for Homeland Security and practicing how to stop a truck and its driver in case of a terrorist threat. NRS, a leading provider of shipping services nationwide for many leading brand names, is well known for its advanced security systems and procedures.
"It was really amazing to see the team operate," said John Tabor, National Director of Security for NRS. "I wouldn't want to be driving a truck these guys targeted. It didn't take long for them stop it and the driver."
